McDonald’s Monopoly Rare Pieces
McDonald’s Monopoly is once again upon us. For those you who wish to relive the childhood thrill of hoping to win $50, here are the “rare” pieces (from Wikipedia):
Dark Purple – Mediterranean Avenue ($50)
Light Blue – Vermont Avenue ($500)
Light Purple – Virginia Avenue ($1,000)
Orange – Tennessee Avenue ($5,000)
Red – Kentucky Avenue ($10,000)
Yellow – Ventnor Avenue ($25,000)
Green – Pennsylvania Avenue ($50,000)
Dark Blue – Boardwalk ($1,000,000)
Railroad – Shortline ($100)
Two things stink about this year’s contest. A#1: the railroad only wins you $100, last year it was $5,000,000. B#2: The printed game board is no longer monopoly board shaped, instead it’s just a boring listing of the pieces organized by color. What fun is that?

I went to McD’s the other day and got a few pieces. Won a breakfast sandwich, so take that. have you ever read about the actual odds of winning? I think the odds to win the million (annuity) is multi-billions to one. You have better odds at winning the powerball. Also, the odds of winning years ago was zero since the people who ran the game kept the rare pieces and gave them to family and friends. Crazy how much McD’s revenue goes up when they do this usless game, but I love it.

Man did I love collecting those pieces in 1st grade. Everybody in my class would talk about what we would do with the big luxury house if we won the green monopoly, etc. Back in those days the cashiers would give me big handfuls of the pieces whenever we ordered something.

I don’t eat that much McD’s, I have only been there about 3 times since it started. If there is a chance to win something I am all for it, it is better than not having any chance at all of winning anything, I am not eating there anymore than I normally would. I figure if I can split or not win at all, may as well split if I can with someone. :) There are only about 7 days left to play anyway.

I can’t say that I am as passionate as LOGTEC about all this (I was simply looking for what the “rare” pieces were and found this page), but he is absolutely right – if you indeed do have a rare piece, you are a complete idiot to split 50/50 with anyone. If you have any of the rare pieces at the top of the page, go to your local McDonalds and buy fries, drinks, hashbrowns, whatever until you get the pieces you need. Because YOU WILL GET THE PIECES YOU NEED. I’m not a get rich quick guy. I realize I’m not going to win the millions, but it’s fun to play. If I get Boardwalk I’ll take half a million straight up and you can have the rest, so long as you’ll pay all of the taxes.
