I became a fan of Tom Lehrer when I heard a recording on the Dr. Demento show in 1981, about six years after I cam stateside. But I can state that the man was arguably on a par with Lenny Bruce. In any case, like Lenny Bruce and early Monty Python LPs, I suggest one get what one can, lest the humourless universe of today's vacuous pop culture suck it all into a black hole.
