Young Stalin
I bet you didn’t realize that Stalin didn’t always look like Big Brother. At one point, when he was younger (around 24), he looked downright cool:

The tussled hair, the scruffy beard, rakish look, the stylish ascot… the man has it all. This picture was taken in 1902, decades before he grabbed control of a ragged and tired Russian populace. If only he’d gone into a career in film or photojournalism, most of modern history would be dramatically different.
The picture apparently comes from this book.
