Top 100 Websites

Of the top 100 websites, there’s a surprising number (38) that I’ve never heard of:

Various local versions of Google.com are in the list 22 times.   RumorsDaily is ranked 433,041.

You’ve never heard of YouPorn? Also, one shouldn’t be expected to know every megaupload clone site.

I was not familiar with YouPorn, RedTube (same concept) or Megarotic (which would make a pretty good fauxlogism, actually). I guess I’m out of touch with web 2.0 porn.

I really like the name Wretch.cc.

  3. Troeltsch Says:

YouPorn and RedTube have been covered in the LA Times. They’re quite concerning to the porn industry, as they threaten to completely gut it in way more serious terms than the mainstream movie industry is threatened by piracy.

  4. DoorFrame Says:

I’m sorry Troeltsch, but you really should have used some sort of double entendre in making that point. I think the most likely choice would be to replace the word ‘gut’ with a more euphemistic verb.

    Fine:

This new crop of websites boasts a massively large number of clips with a very wide variety of subjects, sure to please the most delicate, quivering web browser, who can merely run his or her hands over the search interface and have his or her eyes showered with gobs and gobs of free clips, coming over the high-bandwidth lines in endless wide streams. These websites are ready to give up their clips for free, any time of day or night, and will take on anyone who asks, as long as they claim to be barely legal.

At the same time this long, wide variety of free clips threatens to pound into the traditional industry’s bottom line day after day, hour after hour, cramming free clips inappropriately into the profit model and preventing the normal, regular flow of dollars that the industry relies upon as surely as you or I require a daily cup of coffee.

    Much better, thank you.
